A pilot’s guide.

Fly a training course in a fictional workspace. Objectives advance as you play. Restarting the demo begins a fresh mission.

One workspace. Two kinds of flight.

In space, repositories are planets and grouping folders are constellations. Loose files form a landable belt. Bytes give each body its mass; recent changes excite it, adding gravity and light that decay together. Cross a landing ring slowly to be captured, brake to hold, or boost to skim past. Press L to land.

On a surface, files are atoms and folders are molecules. Clusters pull you closer; hot folders buffet your ship. Root files sit near the landing site. E opens an atom within 18 units, or fires at a ship-aimed atom up to 90 units away. The bolt travels and flashes before the viewer opens; cruising continues during the shot and resumes after closing. Q or a scene click fires a mouse-aimed probe up to 160 units away, and L lifts off. Keep climbing to lift off using altitude. Space aiming targets bodies and plans a landing route.

M shows the atlas for this layer. T offers root and per-body tours; steering or L pauses a tour, and T resumes it from your new location. G cycles curvature, energy and light in space, or bonds, temperature and light on a surface. The Physics switch turns field forces off while retaining collisions and the floor.

Physics reads metadata and read-only Git history; no working-tree file contents are read for physics. In browser mode, changes use folder snapshots. E reads file contents locally on demand. Tour definitions are read from .space/tours. Nothing is uploaded. Hidden files, dependencies, and generated folders stay outside the map. Connected folders refresh; snapshot selections require reselection.
